My family and I moved to Lake Greenwood in June of 2006. It took two years to locate the spot, and build the courage, to leave our home in Sonoma County, California, located just an hour North of San Francisco. We lived in the beautiful wine country of California. While it was a wonderful place to grow up, and raise a family of our own, it was time for a change. We had grown tired of the continual overcrowding, congested highways, agitated people, and overall declining quality of life. That, mixed with five straight years of ridiculous appreciation in the California real estate market, made it a perfect time to leave. Seeing the inevitable decline quickly approaching, we decided to make our move.   Countless hours were spent excitedly searching Lakehouse.com. One day searching Tennessee and Kentucky, the next day, it would be lakes in Georgia and Alabama, then on to North and South Carolina. We would find a lake we liked, then checked out listings, then surrounding communities, schools in the area, lake restrictions, water levels (learned that the hard way), who controls the lake (VERY IMPORTANT), then weather.com for a comparison search. That was the first criteria.   We decided quickly we wanted to go to the South. Wonderful climate, no snow, friendly people, warm lakes, not over crowded. Then we would hold our breath and check out the most important criteria of all¦.GATORS! We really preferred not to have them in the water with us!   As you have probably summed up by now, Lake Greenwood fit the bill for us. We quickly fell in love with the area. The day we moved in, we put the boat in the water and took a ride. I quickly realized we had made a great move!  Nicest people I have ever met. A beautiful lake in a great community, it really does feel like we are on vacation every day. We make the most of living on the lake, and go out on the water several days a week.  The real bottom line for us quite simple, living at Lake Greenwood has exceeded what we hoped it would be.   I started working in Greenwood area Real Estate in October of 2006. I handled all types of Real Estate transactions, working with all types of clients. I did a number of commercial transactions, as well as land and homes. I became involved with the Greenwood Association of Realtors. I served on several committees, and became an active member. I also coached the Wrestling team at Ninety Six High School. I was honored by the Greenwood Association as the 2007 Rookie of the Year, and received an Honor Award as well. I also received the 2007 Rookie of the Year, for Prudential Cambridge Realty.   I was very fortunate to have in my office, Lake Greenwoods Top Producer, Tonya Wiley. I had followed her career with great interest. When the opportunity came up to join her team, I quickly jumped on it. We truly share a passion for this lake! The real definition of success to me, is loving what you do, and doing what you love! Working together has brought us an unmatched combination, a lifetime of experience of living on this lake, as well as the experience of finding it from far away.   Our unique partnership has helped us to both exceed all of our expectations.
